Every store starts on our Free plan, which includes all core features and stays completely free until your AI assistant generates 5 chat-assisted orders.

Why Pricing is Sized by Store Sales (Not Session Counts)
Many apps charge by raw pageviews or visitor sessions. In modern eCommerce, session-based billing is fundamentally broken for merchants:
- Bot Traffic Distortions: Search crawlers, AI scrapers, and price bots (Amazonbot, Bingbot, Bytespider, etc.) routinely flood online stores, inflating session counts by 50% to 90% without generating a single dollar in revenue. Session-based billing punishes you for crawler traffic.
- Aligned Incentives: Store revenue cannot be inflated by web crawlers. Sizing plans by your monthly sales bracket ensures ShopGuide scales strictly with your real commercial success.
- A 14-Day Grace Period, Not an Instant Cutoff: When your store outgrows its plan's sales bracket (or your chat has generated its 5 free orders), the rest of the ShopGuide admin is locked and you are sent to the Pricing page. Your storefront chat keeps answering customers for 14 days so shoppers are never cut off mid-conversation, and the Pricing page shows a countdown ("Your AI guide switches off in N days"). Pick a plan within that window and nothing is interrupted. After 14 days the chat switches off until a plan is active.
The 5-Order Assist Free Tier
Rather than locking you into a ticking 7-day or 14-day trial clock where you might get billed before ever configuring your theme, ShopGuide lets you start completely free:
- Real Proof of Value: Install the app, customize your chat appearance, connect your review and loyalty apps, and place the chat block on your store.
- Earn Before You Pay: The app remains active and free until the AI assistant has actively assisted in generating 5 paid orders, counted over the lifetime of your store (a progress bar on the Pricing page shows N / 5). While you are inside the 5 free orders, the Free plan card on the Pricing page has a Set up now button that opens the Setup Guide on Home.
- Zero Automatic Billing Surprises: Once you cross 5 orders, you can select the paid tier that matches your monthly store sales volume. Plan fit is based on your last 90 days of sales.
30-Day Money-Back Guarantee
All paid subscriptions include an unconditional 30-day money-back guarantee. If you upgrade to a paid plan and feel ShopGuide isn't generating the conversion lift, insights, or customer satisfaction you expected, reach out to our team within 30 days for a full refund through Shopify billing.
Paid plans have no separate trial period; the Free plan is the trial, and your first charge is taken when you confirm.
Managing Your Subscription
You can view your current plan status, sales bracket, and upgrade options at any time:
- In your Shopify Admin, open the ShopGuide app, go to Settings → Billing, and click Change Plan (this opens the Pricing page).
- Compare plan tiers and toggle between Monthly and Yearly billing. Plans are sized by store sales, so only the plan that matches your store can be selected; it shows a "Your plan" badge. Other plans are greyed out ("Doesn't cover your store's size" or "More than your store needs").
- Click the plan's button, review the "Confirm Your Plan Selection" dialog, and click Confirm & Subscribe.
- You will be redirected to the secure Shopify App Billing approval screen. Confirm the charge to activate your new tier immediately.
Shopify partner development stores skip plan selection at the end of onboarding and start on the Free plan. The Free plan's 5 chat-assisted-order limit still applies.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I switch between monthly and annual billing?
Yes. You can switch between monthly and annual plans at any time from the Pricing page in your ShopGuide dashboard.
What happens after my 5 free chat-assisted orders?
When your chat has generated 5 orders (or your store outgrows its plan's sales bracket), the rest of the ShopGuide admin is locked and you are sent to the Pricing page. Your storefront chat keeps answering customers for 14 days; the Pricing page shows a countdown. Pick a plan within that window and nothing is interrupted. After 14 days the chat switches off until a plan is active.
Are there any hidden setup fees or per-message charges?
No. ShopGuide has no setup fees and no per-message charges. You pay your plan's flat subscription fee.
How do cancellations work?
Cancel from the Pricing page with Cancel Subscription, or choose Switch to Free. Switching to Free cancels the paid subscription immediately. You can also uninstall ShopGuide through your Shopify Admin under Settings → Apps and sales channels.
