Quick Start Guide - 5 Minutes to Your First Chat

Get your ShopGuide chat up and running in just 5 minutes! This streamlined guide covers the essential steps to have customers chatting with your AI assistant today.

Before You Start

Make sure you have:

  • ShopGuide installed in your Shopify store
  • Admin access to your Shopify theme editor
  • 5 minutes of focused time

Step 1: Access Your Theme Editor (1 minute)

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes
  2. Find your active theme and click Customize
  3. Navigate to a page where you want the chat (homepage recommended)

Step 2: Add the Chat Block (2 minutes)

  1. In the theme editor, click Add section or Add block
  2. Search for "Your ShopGuide Chat"
  3. Click to add it to your page
  4. Position it where you want the chat to appear

  • Product pages: Near product description
  • Collection pages: In the sidebar or footer area

Step 3: Basic Configuration (1 minute)

In the chat block settings, configure:

  1. Chat Heading: Enter your preferred title (e.g., "Ask Our AI Assistant")
  2. Primary Color: Choose a color that matches your brand
  3. Product Context: Select a product if on a product page
